How to Close Clients on WhatsApp (Without Feeling Pushy)
In Egypt and across MENA, deals don't close in meetings or email threads — they close on WhatsApp. And that's exactly where most freelancers lose them: the slow first reply, the naked price, the follow-up that never gets sent.
The 5-minute rule
Reply within 5 minutes and you're dramatically more likely to win the conversation than after 30 — the buyer is holding their phone, in buying mode, probably messaging your competitors. Can't reply fully? Acknowledge: "Thanks for reaching out 🙌 give me 30 minutes — meanwhile, what's the project and when do you need it?" People who answer your question rarely ghost.
Never answer "بكام؟" with a number
A naked number has no value attached, so the only comparison left is digits — and the cheaper guy wins. Use A.C.Q.: Acknowledge warmly, Clarify with 2–3 expert questions (scope, deadline, examples), Qualify the budget range. Then price with a frame: value first, two options, premium anchor before standard.
Objections are interest in disguise
- "غالي" → "Compared to your budget, or another offer?" — each path has a calm answer.
- "هفكر" → "Anything specific you're unsure about — price, timeline, approach? Maybe I can solve it now."
- "عينة ببلاش؟" → No free custom work; show 3 relevant past projects + your revision guarantee instead.
The 3-7-14 follow-up
80% of deals need five or more touches; most freelancers stop at one. Follow up on day 3 (add value), day 7 (mention your filling schedule), day 14 (close the loop politely — "I'll mark this as paused; message me anytime"). The day-14 message converts surprisingly often: taking the offer away moves the 80%-convinced buyer.
